They are therefore looking for ways to respond appropriately, but especially to anticipate possible disruptions. Many tools are already available, but there is no standard approach or one-size-fits-all solution.

The project Manufacturing Excellence 4.0 (ME4.0) addresses this by developing a combination of mobile and laboratory infrastructure. This enables the demonstration of expertise and technology on-site at companies and facilitates and validates industrial research for company-specific cases.

This research infrastructure supports companies, particularly SMEs, in the short and medium term with their ME improvement trajectory using advanced technologies such as XR, AI, and IoT.
