Gudrun Nys
Health Tech Senior Researcher
Gudrun Nys is a researcher and neuropsychologist. She is department head of a rehabilitation unit at CAR Overleie for patients with acquired brain damage. During her PhD and postdoc research at Utrecht University and Ghent University, Gudrun developed a special interest in cognitive and visual assessment and rehabilitation after stroke. At HITLab, she leads the XRehab project, a TETRA initiative dedicated to implementing XR technology in the rehabilitation sector.

Charlotte is the coordinating manager of HITLAB, AI Lab and Energy Lab. Charlotte is responsible for networking with companies and organizations, monitoring and coordinating projects, and managing the different project teams. Charlotte obtained a master's degree in educational sciences (UGent), and a master-after-master in international business economics and policy (KU Leuven). She pursued a joint doctoral degree in pedagogical and computer sciences at KU Leuven and Université de Lille.
Sarah Vercaemer
Researcher & Occupational therapist
Sarah Vercaemer, an occupational therapist at the University Hospital in Ghent, specializes in adult brain injury rehabilitation. Fascinated by XR (Extended Reality) applications, she integrates these technologies into her practice. Since September 2022, she has also been a researcher at SmartSpace UZ Gent, contributing to the XRehab project, a collaboration with Howest Occupational Therapy and HitLab, to advance rehabilitation through innovative research.
Bram Van de Wege
XR Lead
Bram is an XR lead responsible for coordinating various projects on the theme of Extended Reality, and he establishes didactic lines within EdTech projects. He tests the XR interfaces by attaching sensors to himself to visualize how the applications work.
Ine Van der Cruyssen

Ine is a researcher and experimental psychologist. In HIT Lab, she works as a project manager and UX researcher. After completing her Master's in Experimental Psychology at Ghent University, she pursued a PhD on lie detection using eye movements and virtual reality. With her expertise, she excels at integrating the human factor in technical projects.

Siska is Researcher & Lector from the ergotherapy sector in Howest, she works in different projects for HIT Lab and PWO and her expertise is to use her experience of the healthcare sector into different technological applications.
